The Where - Rockygrass bluegrass festival, Lyons, CO

Here's our story:

Scott Summers, my own personal super-hero, took me to a bluegrass festival

in the beautiful Colorado Rockies. We had the best time of our lives,

exploring the mountains, enjoying the festival and being with friends old

and new. At sunset, on Friday, Scott asked me to wade barefoot into the

river with him. It had been hot and we stood in the middle of the river

with the cool water rushing against our ankles. Shady trees rustled over

us and lovely music mixed with the laughter of happy hippie children. He

said, "Oh, look what I found!" and reached down into the water and pulled

out a diamond ring. He got down on his knees and so did I. He asked me to

be his wife and I said "Of course!"

We laughed and cried the rest of a most magical evening filled with music

and dancing and friends and wine.

Let me tell you, I did not have one single clue. I was totally surprised.

It took me about twenty full seconds, kneeling in the St. Vrain River, to

"come to" and answer Scott. He had been planning this for a month. As the

big day went by, he could hardly contain himself. He would flash the ring

to his friends above my head without me knowing it. When proposing, he was

beside himself with joy and nervousness and could barely say the words.

However, he did and ...he did not drop the ring.

I am very happy to share this with you. We are very happy together. We

look forward to a long engagement and living happily ever after.
