I installed the master cylinder and attempted to push fluid through the lines.... no luck, I
eventually found that the brake hoses were all plugged up, there are two in the front and one in
the rear. I reassembled the rear brakes and installed the drums.
26 Oct 2 hours $85
I chased parts and I registered the truck and got some insurance so that I could get the truck
home legally. It cost @ $25 for ins and $137 for registration that includes the custom tag. I also
picked up
the brake hoses, plugs and plug
wires $85. $247 total.

Will I get it running tonight? Will I drive it home tomorrow? I installed all the new brake hoses
and re assembled the front brakes then put all the wheels on, then I bled the brakes. I hooked up
the truck by chain to my Jeep and tried to brake the engine loose... no luck I did manage to pull
the truck through the dirt. Well it looks like I will have to settle with towing the truck home... I
really wanted to drive it home.

I brought the truck home. It rode like it had square wheels; I think I didn’t get one of the dual
wheels on right (I put them on in the by flash light Friday night). The move went well Jim pulled
me with his Dodge Diesel and Hershel met us at Tyler & Kellogg to follow behind while
we drove through town.
28 Oct 12 hours
I began dismantling the truck. I removed the flatbed sides and removed the front end and pulled
the head off the engine. There was a hand full of gunk & rust debris in cylinder # 5. It looks like
condensation came up through the exhaust manifold and corroded things. Only some of the
exhaust ports on the manifold were corroded, probably the ones that the valves were open on.
Some of the cylinders have some corrosion so it appears that I will be pulling the engine. I need
to pull it anyway, I tried to push in the clutch & put the truck in gear when we pulled it home
Saturday, it seems as though the
clutch is not die-engaging the engine.

to get an estimate as they are both cracked.

I purchased a cherry picker for $215. I figure I can sell it for 150 when finished, and I wont need to
worry about being pressed for time with a rental. I also bought a ring compressor, ridge reamer
and ring groove cleaner.
